Android interface to control an ESU


Electrosurgical unit


The electrosurgical unit is an equipment that allow cut the skin in surgical procesures, besides cauterize the blood vessels. The electrosurgical unit work with current in high frequencies, allowing dont tamage the nervous system. ESU have different kind of waves to make the cuts, for example, to do coagulation, it has sused the damped sin wave, because allow deal more damage to the tissue. To make cuts in the tissue it has used the normal sine wave, because allow focus the energy over the tissue and start tu cut with lower coagulation an tissue damage.

Our proyect

The proyect wants change te analogical interface for an interactive andriod interface, to do this, we are using the web page MIT APP inventor to develop the interface. the application will be capable to send the wanted frequency to control cut and coagulation waves.

Android app code

First we have to initialize the bluetooth conection.


Then we have to select the device that we want to pair



Then we have to establish the bluetooth conexion



Then we have to send the information that we want


Finally our code in arduino get the text to frecuency of waves that are send to electric pencil.
